[Help] New World Studio Installation

WARNING :

Running a virtual region requires a lot of physical performances and upstream (which is different from the advertised speed Internet in your subscription). We can not guarantee the stability of your region hosted on your computer.

The new version of New World Studio allows you to host a mega region (4 regions linked as one) on your computer in standalone with hypergrid.
This means you are no longer directly connected to the virtual world New World Grid, but you can teleport there via hypergrid.
You are independent of the New World Grid rules (except when you visit it), which means that you are fully legally responsible for what you do on your regions.

CAUTION:

Especially observe copyrights if you use objects or any other creation in your inventory on a virtual world different of the one you took them of, when not designed by
you!
A fullperm object IS Not an open source object. Only objects that have a well founded "creative commons" license and explicitly specifying your rights, or in public domain, may be, according the relevant license free of rights, exported ... or used according the licence terms.
For example, an object or garment without any plain creative commons license is NOT OPEN SOURCE by default.

To install your free region on your computer :

1) Download New World Studio here
For those with Windows Vista, we recommend downloading the zip file
Install Microsoft. NET Framework 3.5 if not installed or update it (newer versions are not compatible with New World Studio).

2) For the installation, thank you to consult this tutorial
If you're running Windows Vista and Seven, run New World Studio in administrator mode.

3) If you need to manually open your ports on your router and your windows firewall, open ports 9000 to 9004 in TCP and UDP. We advise you first to assign a static IP address for Xp to your computer, Vista, Seven.

To open ports on your router :

You need to find the IP address of your router (private address).
In general it is 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 (if that is not, see the documentation for your router to find this private address).

Type this address in your browser, it opens the configuration interface of your router.

The following identifiers depends on your router, but are generally as follows unless modified:

By default : User: admin and Password: password

Thanks to this address http://portforward.com/  click on the corresponding router.
A page opens, click on "Click here to skip this avertisement ... .. "In the upper right.

To obtain the IP address of your computer follow the instructions on this page, memorize it and click on eg "1st SMTP Server" in the table below.

Enter your IP address on the new page and configure the ports according to the documentation.

To configure it you need :

- Your IP address of your PC
- Open ports for TCP and UDP

Example : For Port 9000

IP Address: ... ....

Protocol Type: TCP

Note 9000 in the boxes

Enter a name

Then validate, do the same for UDP port

Redo handling for ports 9001, 9002, 9003 and 9004 in TCP and UDP

Once finished, restart New World Studio.

IMPORTANT :

If you are on a network, you cannot connect at the same time on the region.

Always remember that OpenSim is an alpha software and can be buggy. So your data is precious ;) keep copies.

We also recommend that you make regular backups of your region.
Check with  http://opensimulator.org/wiki/Server_Commands
Type the commands shown in this site in the command window of New World Studio (black window).

If you have questions, thank you for posting on this forum in the appropriate section.
