New World Studio errors

Have been trying to install the latest New World Studio package, but i am getting several errors, perhaps someone can explain a means to fix those errors so I can get my sim back up and running.
I have included a screenshot of the two common errors to three of my windows vista machines, that I cannot get around.
I have followed the directions on the Wiki help page, to no avail.

Error 1 seemed to be resolved by updating mysql database to version 5.5.15, but that remains to be seen, as the studio still fails to launch.

This does the same thing for me in vista, I have even tried to use win 7, this fails out of the box.

Too much to do to make this work, everything I have tried was suggested and every step seems to work "in win 7" except the last test says fails on the connectivity to newworldgrid using the new version of the gui.

Vista fails, gives me same as the abouv post gets.

Way too much to do to try to make this work, I dont want to use mysql if i have never ever got it to work with the last nws gui, I want to set sql from config, but still says same thing that mysql isnt working, too much of a head ache, I have been trying to get this to work for 3 days now

I must be missing something as I cant use sql to even just get the land back up in NWG.

Hi,

as explained in the last blog post and inworld, this new version of New World Studio does not connect regions to New World Grid. Instead, it creates standalone hypergrid regions but you can teleport to New World Grid from them.

This new version of New World Studio uses its own MySQL server. You need to stop/uninstall previous MySQL services that may occupy the new MySQL port. If the new version of NWS can't start its own instance of MySQL it will not be able to start. If you prefer keeping your previous MySQL install, you can launch OpenSim manually too.

Also, when you start New World Studio, try to stop any application running such as a viewer which uses lots of CPU time and may prevent MySQL from starting in a good delay.

Well, after uninstalling MySQL, and all its suboordinate components,and making sure that no instance of MySQL is running in any way shape or form, I am still getting error number 2...
Exactly the same error I was getting after updating MySQL to 5.5.15... so I am going to assume that MySQL is not causing the 2nd error.
I have tried running a selective startup, with only the bare necessities to operate windows vista running...same thing.
I have tried using the task manager to shut down everything that does not cause an unstable system or crash....same thing.
Error 2 is regarding not being able to find a storage interface in the given module at Opensim.services.UserAccountService base yada yada yada.
I am one of the studio's biggest fans, but I am quickly losing hope.
Surely SOMEONE out there has gotten it to work on Vista.I think I still have a copy of windows 98SE laying around...perhaps I should revert back to stone age technology?
My pc has no difficulty running ANY application I desire...so I doubt it is a hardware issue either.
The machine I am trying to host from is:
Intel Pentium 3.64ghz
4GB RAM
1GB Nvidia 9600GT video card
If the studio can't run on that machine...there is a serious problem.

still fails last conection to grid, says wont get proper conection to NWG, I have loopback and as well 9000 to 9006 tcp/udp on router set.

I'm thinking i need to configure the loopback network address as that is blank, but unsure whats suppose to be put there as its a loop back to where ?
Not to sure of how thats supposed to work, or if its at all neccesary to get a proper conection as there might be something that is still stopping the the second conection test/fail.

I removed all of MYSQL to be sure of that not being the problem, so that I wouldnt need to manualy stop it.

Vista 64 ultimate, i7, 8 gig ram, graphics 4 gig, 2tb hd

Hi aten,

this is certainly your babbler which uses Google Translate API. Google sometimes refuses to translate your chat when there are many translation requests.

For the second error, I would recommend you modify the NewWorldStudio.ini file and set :

[Config]
Installed = True

Then restart New World Studio and tell me what happens.

It was set to true so i made it false, and all that did was get me to reenter my landname,avatarname, and password again, that didnt do a thing, it was Install = true, as thats what it should have been, I realy dont know what that has to do with conection problem as its not realy conneted to the setting the world to public connection.

If I cant set the connection to public even I cant connect to it, all i can do is have a localhost which in no way can connect to NWG.
What I realy want to know is anyone actualy running that has Vista 64 ?

I think I just have to face the fact that this just wont work for vista what ever done, might be that its all laggy bandwidth thats doing it, might be the telco im with is just craptasic, I realy dont know, all i do know is that its not working and thats that.
It's now monday morning for me and the suns up,,,presses delete.

Ok we are making progress!

I followed your instrictions regarding the NewWorldStudio.ini modification...which allowed the studio to launch....however, upon attempting to start the service, the studio terminated. I have attached a screenshot of the DOS window containing the errors which caused the termination...
hope this helps explain it to you , as it is just Greek to me lol. If it does not display large enough in the forum window, please leave me an address and I will email you it so you can view it full scale.

I dont know what you got told to do, but it "dont" seem that its moving in the right direction, all that red is a fail,
looks like its not finding mysql at all, did you some how tell mysql to not work, did you ; comment something out in a *.ini file some where.

I couldnt get the right information either, your more inclined to get helpfull information off some one thats got a vista machine thats had fails, rather than someone who still uses xp.

I just keep getting that last connection fail to NWG, which is from thier software, but still could be something like the loopback connection needs to be set proply which i dont know what to set it too. I'm not a rocket sergeon so dont know what its supposed to be looping back to, is it their ulr or my machine, I truely can say I Dont Know.

Yes, I know the red text indicated errors....which is why i posted a screenshot of it.
After changing the .ini file to reflect Installed=True ,the Studio accepted the login info, and then proceeded to throw the errors reflected in the screenshot.
That does indicate progress, as before, I couldn't get past the Login screen.
There is an old Confucian saying, "A drop of water, in time , moves mountains".
Now the way I see it, I just have to wait for the next drop to fall. LOL

Try this,
before you launch NWS, ctrl+alt+delete, select the all processes button at the bottom of the task manager window, and kill the process named mysql-NT.exe.
Then try starting your studio. Mine still fails when you try to connect, but chances are, mysql-nt.exe is why it can't start MySQL.
If I ever figure this tangled mess out, I will be more than happy to help other vista users configure /patch/ slap a band aid on their NWS.
Gawd I miss the old studio.

I no longer have any version or flavour of MYSQL running on my machine, I had to remove all of what ever I had to make this work which in turn does not take into consideration that I might be trying to get another world operational, seeing as this has been a fail to connect on its own software and tells me that it cant connect on its own attempt in the test, seemes to make me believe that there is something else wrong with it, or that the process to connect to NWG isnt as uncomplicated as just a simple plug and play, after port fowarding, and a loopback which I still dont understand what adress is supposed to be used, not to sure if its my localhost 120,0,0,0,1 or my machine ip which is different to localhost or am I supposed to loop back to another adress/url, I'm gueesing i need to read more on my own and get my own info that can adress this problem, as I get this with other worlds as well, i get a fail to connect as i get tp fails and it says the land is there as well, but with NWG i see no land at all as it wont connect at all, its a diva fail, I deleted NGW off my machine till they actualy care enough to fix or adress this problem that vista users have with it.

I was actualy getting a line of red text when it was starting up but didnt think it was too much to worry about, but now think that if im getting any lines in red its not a good sign at all.
As I said I Deleted NWG from my machine, and will seek a better sollution else where, Yeah I too found the other studio better even with sq-light.

I was able to fix the error I was having, and all it was that the ip for my machine wasnt getting set for some reason.(vista)

But now that i fixed that, and reloaded NWS to my machine there seems to be no land at all now ?, do I need to get new co-ords from the map ?, or is that done automaticaly ?, as it is the software that picks the co-ords or do I have to now get a set of new ones sent to me manualy ?.

And i still get a message when I talk in chat to anyone like this below ???

hi your not connected to the new world grid any longer with this new application so there are no map coordinates and your sim is not viewable on the map.

to get to nwg from you private sim you hypergrid in set up a gate on your private sim to link to a sim in nwg or if you have a sim on nwg set up a second gate there.

They disconnected the hundreds of private pc sims to the grid as it was causing stability issues and they could not maintain the database. This new studio is their solution to still distributing the studio and having you still be able to move back and forth to nwg.

I also forgot to mention you can login directly to the sim you made on your pc by adding it to the grid list of impurdence or any other of the browsers for viewing

just take the information located in the tab open sim
and create a custom entry by filling in the info areas with the
login uri "world login uri"
and you can also add the "world website" as the login page

and then it will work just like before and then you can hypergrid with your new avatar to NWG and pick up skins and hair etc to fix your second avatar :)

last peace i saw the tos thing. you look like your running some kind of babbler or google translater. You get that if the thing is overloaded. There is also one incorporated into the newest imprudence stable release turn it off if this is happening. :)

Thank you, I now realise that I should have stuck with my original option and said goodbye.

I have come to understand by your comment that getting a free region can now be seen as misleading, as that's what I believed we would get when I made an account with NWG.

If I want hypergrid I think OSGRID is a better option for "me"(my opinion) as I did not have to go through all this trouble to get working and to remove MSQL because it conflicted with the diva setup thats being used.
a heavy ask of ppl if they use OPENSIM.

I do see that it does work better to have an instance of MYSQL in the file system is a better option if I was running NGW's implementation, but as it "conflicts" with most of the standard still very currant OPENSIM 1.7.2 in that the standard use of MYSQL is still used as a seperate DB.
